Postseason[edit]

The NNL had a split season. Kansas City and Chicago met in a best of nine playoff. With the Monarchs still holding a 4 games to 3 lead, Chicago's Bill Foster defeated Bullet Rogan 1-0 to force a ninth game, which was to be played as the second game of a doubleheader. Rogan had chosen Chet Brewer to pitch the second game, but when he saw Foster warming up to pitch against Brewer, he pulled Brewer and decided to pitch himself again. It was no contest between the young fireballer and the fading veteran. The American Giants scored early upon the tiring Rogan and Foster cruised to win the darkness-shortened five-inning second game 5-0, and the American Giants were NNL champions.

In the Negro World Series, the Chicago American Giants (NNL) defeated the Atlantic City Bacharach Giants (ECL), 5 games to 3.
