The seven top black teams in 1910 were the Chicago Leland Giants (11-0 against the other top black teams, 123-6 overall by their accounting, 5-4 on an October trip to Cuba), Stars of Cuba (7-6), Chicago Giants (6-7), West Baden Sprudels (0-5), Brooklyn Royal Giants (3-2), Cuban Stars (East) (4-7) and Philadelphia Giants (2-5). The Leland club featured Hall-of-Famer Pete Hill (.457), Bruce Petway (.433), Hall-of-Famer Pop Lloyd (.324), Hall-of-Famer Rube Foster (3-0, 2.17) and Frank Wickware (6-0, 2.88). Smokey Joe Williams made his debut with a top black team with the Chicago Giants, going 3-4. The other active Hall-of-Famers were Jose Mendez (1-0 for the eastern Cuban Stars) and Ben Taylor (.125 with Indianapolis, 0-3 on the mound).
