Biographical Information[edit]

Yui-Fong Wong pitched for the Hong Kong national team.

Wong represented Hong Kong in the 2023 East Asian Baseball Cup. In the 2022 Asian Games (which were held in 2023 after delays), he relieved Lai-Him Lam in the 6th inning against Chinese Taipei, and he gave up a double to Hao-Yu Lee after walking Li Lin. Wong then plunked I-Wei Lee, and he forced Hao-Wei Shen fly out; Ching Connor Kwok then succeeded him. His last appearance was against Laos, and he pitched a shutout inning. [1]

In the 2023 Asian Championship, he debuted against South Korea, and he relieved Alexander Cheuk-Hei Chan in the 5th inning. Wong retired Yong-seok Shin then struck out Min-jun Lee to end this inning. He then forced Hyeon-seung Jung and Tae-ung Yu fly out, and he picked off Jun-young Jeong after Jeong drew a walk. He gave up a leadoff walk to Ju-chan Park in the next inning, and Jun-jae Jeong drew another walk after Seung-yeup Na flew out. Ro-gyeol Yoo added a single, and Yu-Hin Oscar Cheng replaced him. Wong then succeeded Alexander Cheuk-Hei Chan in the 7th inning against Chinese Taipei, but he surrendered a RBI single to Yu-Wei Kao and the game ended. [2]
