Biographical Information[edit]
Yu-jin Lee has been on the South Korean women's national team.
She debuted for South Korea at age 17 in the 2023 Women's Baseball Asian Cup, relieving Song-hee Choi to close out a 10-0 loss to champion Japan. She walked Miwa Tanaka to force in the final run then retired Yaya Kojima. She closed out their 9-2 win over Hong Kong, succeeding Bo-mi Kim. She struck out Tak-Wing Hung then Ying-Huen Wong and Wing-Lam Chung singled. She recovered to get Firminia Leung and Shee-In Choi to end the game. She also pitched in their other match with Hong Kong, replacing Sayuri Ono in wrapping up a 14-4 victory. She retired Chung-Yan Yuen and Yin-Sum Kwong to end that game. She tied for 5th in the main round in games pitched. [1] South Korea won a spot in the 2023-2024 Women's Baseball World Cup. In that event, she had a harder time of it, again closing out both of her games. She took over for Min-jeong Kwak against the USA and yielded a RBI double to Sarah Edwards and RBI single to Valerie Perez. Denae Benites doubled to make it 14-0 before Lee got Ashton Lansdell to end the day. Relieving Song-hee Choi with a 8-0 deficit versus Mexico, she retired Diana Ibarra, walked Daniela Leal and allowed a single to Valeria Rodriguez. She walked Itza Hernandez to load the bases then Liliana Segovia had a RBI single and Marlen Lagunes hit a sac fly to end the game due to the mercy rule. Her 28.00 ERA was not the highest on the staff as Ono was higher. [2]
