Team History[edit]
Following the 2005 season, the Vermont Expos of the New York-Penn League announced they would be known as the Vermont Lake Monsters beginning in 2006. Major League Baseball had demanded that the team eliminate the nickname Expos. The club was most recently an affiliate of the Oakland A's. The name comes from the alleged presence in Lake Champlain of a large snake-like creature known by locals as "Champ".
The team's offices are located in Winooski, VT while its ballpark is on the University of Vermont campus in Burlington, VT.
The team introduced a new logo after the 2013 season.
When the team lost their affiliation in 2021 they joined the Futures Collegiate Baseball League.
