Northern League East
From 1999 to 2002, the independent Northeast League merged formally with the Northern League, with the clubs that had formerly been in the Northeast League forming the Northern League East. For all intents and purposes, the Northern League East functioned as a separate league, as the only meetings with Northern League clubs occured during the post-season.
