Freddy Noguera has played in the minors, the Spanish Division de Honor and the Italian Serie A1. He has been on the Italian national team.
Noguera was originally signed by the New York Yankees and he hit .342/.359/.421 in 21 games for the 2011 DSL Yankees 2. Despite a solid performance, he was released the next year. [1] Going to Spain in 2014, he batted .400/.480/.508 with 39 runs in 32 games, stealing 20 bases in 25 tries for San Inazio Bilbao. He was 5th in average (between Lesther Galván and Richard Montiel), tied Galván for 4th in runs, was 5th in hits (52), tied for 9th in total bases, was second in swipes and 4th in assists (97). [2] He then moved on to Italy, playing for Parma in 2015 and hitting .281/.378/.302. He tied Nick Nosti for 3rd with 8 steals and was 9th with 79 assists. [3]
Making Italy's team for the 2015 Premier 12, he was 3 for 7, splitting left with Paolino Ambrosino and Federico Celli. [4] Switching clubs again, he signed with Rimini for 2016. In the 2016 European Champions Cup, he was 3-for-15 with a walk and two RBI but handled 20 chances error-free. He tied Mike Duursma for second with 14 assists, one behind Nick Urbanus. [5] He batted .348/.407/.435 in 7 games that summer. He hit .294/.333/.294 in the 2017 European Champions Cup and had 17 chances without an error. He tied Robel García and Alessandro Vaglio for 8th in assists (10). [6] He hit .318/.400/.364 in the 2017 Serie A1, though he fielded .933. [7] Rimini won the 2017 Italian Series and he had a four-hit day in Game 2. He tied Mattia Reginato and Celli for the Series lead with five hits and his .417 average was second to Celli. [8]
The Valencia native hit .182/.400/.182 for Italy in the 2018 Haarlem Baseball Week. [9] In the 2018 Serie A1, he hit .328/.400/.353 with 25 runs in 28 games. He handled 113 chances without an error; only catcher Simone Albanese and first baseman Giuseppe Mazzanti had more chances with a perfect fielding percentage that season. He tied Stefano De Simoni for 8th in runs, was 6th with 38 hits, trailed only Vaglio in steals (he was 7-for-8) and tied Charlie Mirabal for 8th in assists. [10] In 2019, he again was 7-for-8 in steals, this time with Nettuno; he slipped to .275/.302/.341. He fielded .981. He tied Efrain Contreras for 4th in stolen bases, tied for 3rd with 17 double plays turned (behind Jesús Ustariz and Rolexis Molina) and was 7th with 55 assists (between Julian Dreni and Giacomo Boscarol). After not playing in Italy in 2020, he returned to Nettuno in 2021 to hit .263/.423/.276 with 17 walks in 22 games, now as a utility man rather than a starting infielder. In 2022, he hit .339/.395/.367. He played for his 4th Italian team, Grosseto, in 2023, and hit .337/.398/.386 with 15 runs in 24 games.
