The 2018 Serie A1 championship was won by UnipolSai Bologna. They beat Parmaclima in the Italian Series to win their 11th scudetto. The competition returned to its original name of Serie A1 after being known as the Italian Baseball League for ten years. Former major leaguer Alex Romero won his third batting title in six years. 16-time champions Città di Nettuno, who returned to Serie A1 after a two-year absence, ceased operations at the end of the year due to ongoing financial problems.
