Simone Albanese is an Italian catcher.
Albanese participated in the European Baseball Academy. Albanese hit .212/.289/.271 for T&A San Marino in 2006, his Serie A1 debut. He played for Italy in the 2006 Intercontinental Cup, striking out in his only at-bat, scoring a run as a pinch-runner and not playing in the field at all as Luca Bischeri and Juan Pablo Angrisano handled the catching duties.
In 2007, Simone batted a miserable .145/.209/.226 as a backup for San Marino. During 2008, the 22-year-old improved his batting line to .247/.316/.303. He was 1 for 10 in the 2008 European Cup and was 2 for 6 in the Final Four. In the Matino phase of the 2009 European Cup, he was 3 for 11 with a double, a walk and two runs.
