Anzio, Roma

Anzio is on the east coast of Italy, on the Tyrrhenian Sea, immediately west of Nettuno and 33 miles south of Rome. It is an important port and the site of an allied amphibious landing followed by a major battle against German forces in January of 1944, during World War II.
