C/OF Mattia Reginato is a player in Italy. He was MVP of the 2011 European Cup.
Reginato hit .438/.600/.563 for the Italian team in the 2007 European Junior Championship with eight walks and five runs in five games. He was in the 2008 MLB European Academy. He debuted in the Italian Baseball League in 2009, hitting .230/.280/.331 for Reggio Emilia. When the team was relegated, he moved to Fortitudo Bologna for 2010. In the 2010 European Cup, he was 1 for 8 with three walks, a run, RBI and an error as a part-time catcher. In the regular season, he hit only .179/.343/.214 while Juan Pablo Angrisano was Bologna's main backstop.
In 2011, Reginato switched teams again, to T&A San Marino. He batted .282/.338/.437, while splitting the catching role with Simone Albanese, a much lighter hitter that year. In the 2011 Italian Series, he was 3 for 9 with a run and two RBI as San Marino won it in seven games. During the 2011 European Cup, he was 4 for 13 with 3 runs, 6 RBI and a homer. He was the MVP of the Cup Final Four - in game one, he scored the winner after entering as a pinch-hitter. In game two, he hit a grand slam off Roberto Corradini in the second to put San Marino ahead for good.
