Biographical Information[edit]

Eduardo Díaz peaked at AA and was on the Venezuelan national team.

He was signed by Arizona Diamondbacks scouts Gregorio Ramirez and Junior Noboa. [1] He split the summer between the DSL Diamondbacks 1 (.358/.449/.496, 36 R, 19 SB in 33 G), AZL Diamondbacks (.229/.312/.271 in 26 G) and Missoula Osprey (0 for 2), stealing 23 bases in 31 tries. He tied for 4th in the D'backs chain in swipes. He hit .312/.357/.510 for Missoula in 2017, scoring 58 runs in 57 games. He was among the Pioneer League leaders in runs (tied Robby Rinn for second, 8 behind Amalani Fukofuka), tied Darrell Miller Jr. for 4th in doubles (18), tied for 5th in triples (5),

Moving up to the Kane County Cougars, he struggled at .225/.262/.350 in 2018. He split 2019 between Kane County (.283/.355/.430 in 72 G) and the Visalia Rawhide (.283/.318/.423 in 44 G). He had 78 runs, 26 doubles, 6 triples and 18 steals (in 23 tries) for the year. He was 6th among Arizona farmhands in runs, tied Jamie Westbrook and Jancarlos Cintron for 4th in doubles and tied for 7th in triples. The 2020 minor league season was wiped out due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Returning to action in 2021, he hit .227/.278/.463 in 56 games for the Hillsboro Hops and .316/.387/.633 in 26 contests for the Amarillo Sod Poodles; he went deep 21 times in 314 AB overall. He tied Andy Yerzy and Neyfy Castillo for 3rd in the chain in dingers.

In his winter league debut, he hit .342/.400/.488 in 16 games for the 2021-2022 Caribes de Anzoátegui, backing up Willians Astudillo in left field. He returned to Amarillo for all of 2022 and batted .263/.320/.423 with 29 doubles. He tied Deyvison De Los Santos for 4th in the Arizona system in doubles and tied Andy Pages for 7th in the Texas League in that department. That ended his time in the Arizona system. He hit .203/.259/.351 for the 2022-2023 Caribes. He then played for Venezuela in the 2023 Pan American Games. In their opener versus Brazil, he batted third and played center, striking out against Felipe Natel his first time up. His first hit was a double off Colombia's Víctor Vargas. He was a triple shy of a cycle against Chile and finished the Games at .455/.538/1.000 with four runs in four games, though he had an error in his lone chance in the outfield. He tied for 7th in the Games in runs and tied for second in doubles (2 behind Jasson Atondo), solid work for a part-timer. [2]
