Biographical Information[edit]
Bob Mayer pitched five seasons in the Cincinnati Reds farm system.
He then became a scout for the Cleveland Indians and was also the Indians’ regional supervisor in charge of most of the East Coast. He has scouted and signed Cody Allen, Chris Archer, Mike Butia, Dan Cevette, Lonnie Chisenhall, Tim Fedroff, Aaron Laffey, Kyle Landis, Scott Lewis, Jake Lowery, Matt Packer , Mike Papi, Ryder Ryan, Brad Snyder and Wyatt Toregas.
Mayer and his wife Deb have two sons and a daughter. His son Jimmy Mayer played for the University of Pittsburgh and was drafted by Cleveland in 2002 and the Tampa Bay Devil Rays in 2006.
