Biographical Information[edit]

C/1B Jake Lowery played college ball at James Madison University from 2008-2011 and had a very distinguished career at the school. In his final season, he was named the Colonial Athletic Association's Player of the Year and earned CollegeBaseballInsider.com National Hitter of the Year honors and the Johnny Bench National Catcher of the Year Award. He is the last JMU player to earn All-America honors, and holds the single-season program records for home runs, RBI's, and extra base hits. He is also fourth in career triples, tenth in career home runs, and ranks in the top ten for single-season at-bats, hits, and runs scored. He was named the Player of the Year in 2011 for the NCAA All-East Region.

The Cleveland Indians drafted Lowery in the 4th round of the 2011 amateur draft. He was signed by scout Bob Mayer for a reported $220,000 and made his pro debut that summer. Lowery played in the Indians minor league system from 2011-2015 and in the Washington Nationals organization from 2016-2019. He reached AAA in 2018 for 12 games with the Syracuse Chiefs. Lowery was scheduled to be a player/coach for the Fredericksburg Nationals in 2020 before COVID-19 forced the cancellation of the minor league season. Overall, Lowery appeared in 462 games where he had a BA of .223, an OBP of .331, and a slugging percentage of .372.

After a year away from the game, Lowery managed the FCL Nationals in 2021 and the Fredericksburg Nationals in 2022-2023.
