Augusta, GA

From BR Bullpen

Augusta is located in eastern Georgia, on the Savannah River, which forms the border with South Carolina, 125 miles north-west of Savannah, GA. Ty Cobb was a resident of the city and had the Detroit Tigers make the city their spring training home for five seasons while he was player-manager in the 1920s. The city is best known for being the home of the Augusta National Golf Club where the Masters Golf Tournament is held annually; the name "Green Jackets" comes from the outfit donned by the winner of that prestigious event.

Since 2018 and the opening of SRP Park, the city's nominal team, the Augusta GreenJackets, have been playing across the River in North Augusta, SC, while retaining their name.
