Biographical information[edit]
Art Patchin was a minor league baseball pitcher and manager. In his very first professional season, 1936, he went 18-13 for the Augusta Tigers to lead the team in wins. He pitched four more seasons in the minors, never winning more than eight games in a season. Overall, he went 25-27 in 97 games.
He managed the Shelby Colonels for part of the 1940 season, replacing Lou Haneles.
His son, Arthur Patchin, Jr., played in the minor leagues in 1960.
He played football while at the University of Michigan.
