William Juárez is a Nicaraguan hurler who has pitched in the Dominican Republic, United States of America, Mexico and Italy in addition to his homeland. He has peaked at AAA. His brother Gerardo Juárez also played in the pros.

Juárez debuted as a pro in 2000 with the DSL Diamondbacks, going 4-5 with a 3.77 ERA. In 2001, he had a 6-1, 1.98 record for the same club. He moved up to the Missoula Osprey in 2002, going 6-2 with a 2.43 ERA as the staff's best starter despite a .272 opponent average. His control was sharp as he walked only 12 in 81 1/3 IP. He led the Pioneer League in innings pitched and was second in ERA, trailing Cleris Severino's miniscule 0.96.

Juárez spent 2003 with the Yakima Bears, where his record was 5-3, 2.95 and he just missed the top 10 in the Northwest League in ERA, .10 behind #10 Ching-Lung Lo. The right-hander appeared for the Nicaraguan national team in the 2003 Baseball World Cup, where he was 1-1 with a 4.50 ERA.

Juárez split his 2004 campaign between the South Bend Silver Hawks (3-1, 1.55, .222 opponent average, 47 K in 46 1/3) and El Paso Diablos (3-7, 5.00), reaching AA for the first time. That off-season, he was traded with Dioner Navarro, Beltran Perez and Danny Muegge to the Los Angeles Dodgers for veteran slugger Shawn Green.

The Nicaraguan hurler split 2005 between the rotation (14 starts) and bullpen (24 appearances), going 6-5 with a 4.59 ERA for the Jacksonville Suns. He presumably was injured for part of 2006 as he only pitched 11 games, all for the Las Vegas 51s, in his AAA debut. He went 4-5 with a 4.08 ERA and threw one complete game. One troubling sign was that he walked more (38) than he struck out (28).

Juárez spent parts of 2007 with Las Vegas (6-6, 5.78, .316 opponent average in 21 games, 18 starts) and Jacksonville (4-2, 4.79, .289 average in 8 games, all starts). He did lead Dodgers farmhands with 2 complete games and his 10 wins were 3 shy of the lead in the farm system. It wasn't enough to keep LA interested, though, as they did not re-sign him for 2008.

William moved to the Mexican League for 2008, signing with the Petroleros de Minatitlan and going 1-2 with a 7.71 ERA in six games, allowing 18 hits and 7 walks in 11 2/3 IP.

For 2009, he signed with Reggio Emilia in Italy. He debuted on April 9, allowing one unearned run in 3 relief innings after replacing Abe Alvarez; he lost a 1-0 decision. The run came on a walk to David Sheldon, sacrifice bunt, passed ball and hit by Simone Albanese.
