The Sporting News Player of the Year Award

The The Sporting News Player of the Year Award was an award given out by The Sporting News first in 1948. The award is given annually to the player judged by TSN baseball experts as having had the most outstanding season in each of the American and National Leagues of Major League Baseball. The awards were discontinued after the 1991 season after it had become overshadowed by the The Sporting News Major League Player of the Year Award.
