1987 Toronto Blue Jays
Record: 96-66, Finished 2nd in AL Eastern Division (1987 AL)
Managed by Jimy Williams
Coaches: Cito Gaston, John McLaren, Billy Smith, John Sullivan and Al Widmar
History, Comments, Contributions[edit]
The 1987 Toronto Blue Jays were one of the many outstanding Blue Jay teams that took the field from 1985 through 1993, but they just missed out on making the playoffs, finishing behind the Detroit Tigers after a dramatic final week-end face-off between the two teams. Led by George Bell at the plate and Jimmy Key and Dave Stieb on the mound, the Blue Jays had power, speed, fine pitching, and a plethora of young talent.
