Texas Wesleyan University was known as Texas Wesleyan College until January 1989. In earlier days, it was Texas Polytechnic College.
Through 2023, Hall of Famer Tris Speaker is one of three major league players who attended Texas Wesleyan, with Jack Enright and Jeff Moronko the two others.
The school has sponsored baseball since 1967, except the 1968, 1985 and 1986 seasons.
