Biographical Information[edit]
Jack Enright pitched one game (five innings) in the major leagues. Appearing for the 1917 Yankees, he faced the 1917 Detroit Tigers, whose lineup on September 26 included Ty Cobb, Harry Heilmann, Bobby Veach and Donie Bush. Cobb hit a double off him.
Jack was 21 at the time. Born in Fort Worth, TX, he had begun pitching in the minors at age 18. His 1917 year had mostly been spent with the Richmond Virginians before he pitched for the Yankees.
He served in the Army in World War I. [1]
