Karlo Kos has played for the Croatian national team.
Kos hit .333/.529/.417 and had a 9.95 ERA in the 2017 European Championship U23. [1] In the 2018 Federations Cup, he was 1-1 with a 6.92 ERA for Vindija Varazdin and was 2 for 13 at the plate. He lost to the Astros Valencia and Yulman Ribeiro but got Varazdin's lone win, beating Apollo Bratislava and Adam Zacko. [2] In the 2019 European Championship U23, he went 3 for 7 with a double, 3 walks and two RBI and was 0-1 with a 6.00 ERA, losing to Czechia; he was second on Croatia in ERA behind Ronnie Krsolovic. In his debut for the senior national team, he relieved Borna Strelec with one out in the 4th against Spain in the 2021 European Championship; there were two on and a 9-0 deficit already. He walked former major leaguer Engel Beltre to load them up then Edison Valerio hit a two-run single. He retired Oscar Angulo but Jesús Ustariz singled for a 12-0 score, then Daniel Jiménez flew out. Nino Kruhek took over in the 5th. His other game on the mound, he relieved Andrew Jones in the 5th with a 9-2 deficit against the Czech national team, one on and one out. Matěj Menšík doubled to greet him and Petr Zýma walked to load them up. Martin Schneider singled in one and Matěj Hejma doubled in two for a 12-2 lead. Petr Čech singled in another run, then Martin Červinka's sacrifice fly put it at 14-2 before Marek Chlup flew out. Petar Juričić relieved him in the 6th. His 33.75 ERA tied Mykola Liakhovetskyi for 8th-highest in a high-scoring tournament. [4]
