Biographical Information[edit]
Adam Zacko has played for the Slovakian national team.
Zacko was 0-1 with a 9.00 ERA (losing to Ukraine) and going 2 for 5 in the 2017 European Championship U23. [1] He was 2-2 with a 5.64 ERA for Apollo Bratislava in the 2018 European Interleague, finishing 9th in ERA. [2] The next season, he had a 1-4, 6.35 record, tying for second in losses but fourth with 42 K. [3] In the 2019 B-Level European Championship, he allowed five runs (two earned) in two innings in a loss to Lithuania and Audrius Beliauskas. [4] The 2020 and 2021 Interleague were cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The right-hander was a backup corner outfielder for Slovakia in the 2021 European Championship Qualifiers, going 2 for 4 with two walks, a double, three runs and a RBI while handling three putouts without an error. [5] Slovakia won to earn a spot in the 2021 European Championship, their first European Championship. The 20-year-old appeared in their debut game, versus title-bound the Netherlands. He relieved Jakub Ižold in the 6th with a 10-0 deficit. He retired Junior Martina then allowed a Dashenko Ricardo single. John Polonius doubled but Ricardo was thrown out trying to score. Jiandido Tromp hit into a run-scoring error then Zacko got former major leaguer Roger Bernadina on a fly. In the 7th, he left for pinch-hitter Michal Noga. He also played three games in the outfield, being retired by Radim Chroust his first at-bat and going 0-for-8. [6]
