Biographical Information[edit]
Hyeon-su Jeong has pitched in the KBO and for the South Korean national team.
Jeong made South Korea's young club for the 2023 Asian Championship. He relieved Dong-hyeok Kim in the 8th inning of their opener against host Taiwan, and he struck out Chien-Fu Liao and retired Chia-Hsiang Sung to end his work. He then replaced Kim in the 5th inning against the State of Palestine, and he pitched a shutout inning with a strike out against Rumsey Yasin to end the game. Jeong succeeded Kang-hoon Woo in the 4th inning against Japan when runners were on first and third, and he allowed two consecutive RBI single to Yukiya Yano and Motoki Mukoyama. He then retired Masashi Maruyama, but Noriyuki Hashimoto drew a walk and Byeong-hyeon Jo took over. In the Bronze Medal Game, he pitched a shutout inning with 2 strikeouts against Clarence Caasalan and Lord de Vera, and Korea beat the Philippines with a 7-0 score; they won Bronze. [1]
The Lotte Giants selected him in the second round of the 2024 KBO draft, and he had a 4.56 ERA in 18 games in his rookie year.
