Biographical Information[edit]
Masashi Maruyama played for ENEOS after college. He also represented Japan in the 2022 U-23 Baseball World Cup.[1] In the 2022 Asian Games, he debuted against the Philippines, hit a RBI single off Vladimir Eguia and also collected 2 walks. He then went 1-for-2 with a RBI double against Khounchleun Soulapixa of Laos. He was 0-for-6 in the next two games, then hit a RBI single against Yen-Cheng Wang of Chinese Taipei. In the Bronze Medal Game, Murayama was 1-for-3 with a double against Xiang Wang to help Japan beat China and win the Bronze. He handled 49 chances error-free at first for the event. [2]
