The Cuba national baseball team is a national team of Cuba and is controlled by the Federación Cubana de Béisbol. It represents the nation in senior-level men's international competition. The team is a member of the COPABE. Cuba had been the dominant team in international competition from the 1940s until the late 2000s. They have won 25 of the first 28 Baseball World Cups they have played in, 12 of their first 15 Pan American Games (including 8 in a row from 1971-2007) and 3 of 5 Olympics. Prominent national team members have included Omar Linares, Orestes Kindelan, Jose Contreras, Braudilio Vinent, Orlando Hernandez, Antonio Pacheco, Victor Mesa, Germán Mesa, Lourdes Gourriel Sr., Pedro Luis Lazo, Yulieski Gourriel and Alfredo Despaigne.
Cuba made the finals of every major global baseball tournament from the 1952 Amateur World Series through 2008 Olympics (discounting a regional tournament, the 1959 Pan American Games), 40 straight events, before falling short of the semifinals in the 2009 World Baseball Classic.
A team dubbed as the "Cuban national team" played a series of games in the independent Can-Am Association starting in 2016, although that team was not the formal national team even if half of its members were indeed also members of the hallowed squad.
