Oscar Reyes backed up Cándido Hernández at first base for the Cuban national team that won the 1930 Central American Games. He went 0 for 4; in the field, he had 14 putouts and one assist and had the most chances of any first baseman in those Games who did not make an error. He managed Cuba to a Gold Medal in the 1950 Amateur World Series and 1950 Central American and Caribbean Games. In 1950 and 1951, he guided Teléfonos to the Cuban amateur title.
