1990 Central American and Caribbean Games

The 1990 Central American and Caribbean Games were the 16th Central American and Caribbean Games. They were held in Mexico City and won by the Cuban national team.

 Cuba went 8-0. Servio Borges was the manager. They were led by Orestes Kindelán, who won the first Triple Crown in the history of the Games (.533, 7 HR, 18 RBI). He also led with 12 runs and tied for the lead with 16 hits. Antonio Pacheco banged out 16 hits as well, hitting .485. Lourdes Gourriel Sr. (.429), Ermidelio Urrutia (.419) and Pedro Luis Rodriguez (.407) all topped .400 as well. Euclides Rojas (0.96), Rene Arocha (1-0, 0.82), Ivan Alvarez (1-0, 1.04) and Omar Ajete (2-0, 1.32) pitched well but the top hurler was Jorge Luis Valdés, who won three shutouts in a row.

 Puerto Rico won Silver, going 5-3 (5-1 when not playing Cuba).

 Dominican Republic won Bronze at 4-4 under skipper Rafael Luis López. Jose Veras led with three triples.

 Mexico was 4-2 in the preliminary round but 0-2 in the final round to finish 4th at 4-4.

 Netherlands Antilles was 3-3. A. Bonavacia led in ERA (0.00) while they also had the steal leader (3), listed as "S. Andriano". This might well be a typo and actually be Sharnol Adriana but this cannot be verified as of yet.

 El Salvador placed last at 1-5. Cayetano Rostrán paced the Games with four doubles.
