2005 Pacific League Most Valuable Player Award
(Redirected from 2005 PL MVP)
The 2005 Pacific League Most Valuable Player Award went to Softbank Hawks ace Toshiya Sugiuchi, who was 18-4 with a 2.11 ERA, leading the league in both wins and ERA. It was a close vote, as he edged out teammate and 2004 MVP Nobuhiko Matsunaka, the home run, RBI and walk leader; Matsunaka had one more first-place vote but fewer vote points. The third-place finisher, Shunsuke Watanabe, was only two first-place votes behind Sugiuchi.
