2002 European Cup
The 2002 European Cup was played in Viladecans, Spain. DOOR Neptunus beat their Hoofdklasse rivals Mr. Cocker HCAW in the final to win their third straight European Cup title. It was the second all-Dutch finale, following 1994 (through 2016, there has not been a third).
HCAW went ahead first on a double by Clive Mendes, a Eugene Henson single and a Jurjan Koenen sacrifice fly off Eelco Jansen. Neptunus rallied when Dirk van 't Klooster hit into an error in the 5th. In the 7th, van 't Klooster tripled and scored on a Percy Isenia sac fly. Tom Becker got the win with 4 1/3 shutout innings of relief, while Jeroen Deken lost in relief of Steve Murray (Best Pitcher of the Cup).
