The 2001 Korea Baseball Organization was the 20th Korea Baseball Organization season. The Doosan Bears won their first title, despite barely being over .500 in the regular season; they were 9-3 in the postseason to compensate. Seung-yeop Lee won his third MVP award, tying Dong-yeol Son for the most. The Korea Professional Baseball Players Association mounted a campaign to reduce the foreign player limit from three per team to two - when they moved to halt action before the postseason, the league agreed to such a change effective in 2003.

Awards[edit]

The KBO MVP was Seung-yeop Lee of Samsung, who led the league with 39 home runs and drew 96 walks. The KBO Rookie of the Year was another first baseman, Tae-kyun Kim of the Hanwha Eagles, who hit .335 with 20 home runs.

The following players won Gold Gloves, which in the KBO go to the best overall player at each position are not a defensive (only) award.
