1985 European Championship

The 1985 European Championship was held from July 6 through July 14, 1985 in Haarlem and Eindhoven in the Netherlands.
Netherlands swept its way to a title by going 9-0 and taking all four games in the finals. Judsel Baranco was named the tourney's best hitter while Marcel Joost won MVP honors. Charles Urbanus Jr. had a 4-hit game and 3-hit game in the finals.
Italy went 4-5, going 4-1 before being wiped away in the finals.
Belgium went 6-2, going 3-0 in the 3-6 group. Oswald Boermans hit .583 to lead the tourney while Frank Lauwers (2-0, 0 ER in 17 IP, 9 H) was named the best pitcher.
Sweden was 4th at 4-4.
Spain placed fifth at 2-6 for one of its poorest shows.
San Marino was last at 0-8.
