1965 European Championship
The 1965 European Championship was held from August 29 through September 5 in Madrid, Spain.
Netherlands won Gold, as usual, but this was one of their biggest routs ever. They won their four games by a combined 57-0 score, including a 16-0 win over Italy. OF Hamilton Richardson was named MVP; he would repeat the feat 8 years later. Herman Beidschat was named the Best Pitcher in the tournament.
Italy took Silver, topping Sweden 30-1 and Germany 9-0. They edged Spain 14-9 and were routed by the Dutch. Luigi Cameroni managed them for the third straight tournament and fourth time overall.
Germany took Bronze at 2-2.
Spain finished 4th at 1-3.
Sweden finished 0-4, losing each contest by at least 8 runs.
