1922 in the Negro Leagues

The Pittsburgh Keystones, which were added with the Cleveland Tate Stars to the NNL to replace the Columbus Buckeyes and Chicago Giants, folded after the season.

Individual Achievements[edit]

There were three no-hitters in 1922:

Bill Force of the Detroit Stars beat the St. Louis Giants 3-0 on June 27.

Nip Winters of the Bacharach Giants beat the Indianapolis ABCs 7-1 on July 26 in a game between an NNL team and an associate team.

Phil Cockrell of the Hilldale Club beat the Chicago American Giants by an unknown score on August 19 in another associate game. It was his second no-hitter, having thrown one in 1921.
