History, Comments, Contributions[edit]

Pitcher Ed Walsh won 40 games for the 1908 Chicago White Sox to set a club record that still stands.

Going into the final day of the season, the Sox were just a half a game behind the first place Detroit Tigers. However, a loss to the Tigers put them back in third place.
