West Dixie League
In 1934 the Dixie League split into the East Dixie League and West Dixie League. This class C operation lasted another two seasons before giving up the ghost after 1935. There were nine cities represented in the two year league's play; eight were from Texas and one from Louisiana. Jacksonville, TX won the 1934 title; no playoffs were scheduled. The Tyler, TX squad got away with the 1935 title but lost the playoffs to the Jacksonville, TX team. In 1936, the West Dixie League effectively became the East Texas League. There has been no further play in the "West" Dixie League since 1935.
