The school was a two year college known as Utah Technical College from 1967-1987 and Utah Valley Community College from 1987 to 1993 and a four year school known as Utah Valley State College until July 1, 2008 when it attained University status. Alumni include Jeff Barto, Tim Chambers, Andrew Craig, Mitch Jones, Kameron Mickolio, Dave Morrow and Jeff Scholzen. Richard Stephenson went here many years after his playing career was over.
