Randy, I think your articles are getting very good. Two areas you could improve upon - 1) Adding high school information to the demographics section (right underneath colleges attended or in lieu of colleges attended) either in place of or in addition to in the text of the article itself. 2) Adding links to minor league teams. Instead of writing Denver, Denver Bears takes an extra couple seconds and allows folks to jump from page to page more readily.

Also, you can link to the specific league i.e. Western League instead of "the league". I do think the articles look much better with the blurbs you are adding than they did blank.

Randy, can you surround your quotes with <blockquote></blockquote> to improve readability. Only the quote (or quotee) could be italized for the same reason. Randy, the folks at attheplate.com have notified us that you directly copied a quote from their page about Sterling Slaughter. Sean removed this. Please either cite sources or be careful in using material from other places (rewording, paraphrasing, etc.) It is best of course to do both to avoid any risks of plagiarism.

Randy, had two league pages butchered up - North carolina State League at 21:33 and Florida State League at 22:17. I am not sure I got them back in the right history. There is a lot of dispute about "first black player" lists. Usually they included only African-Americans, but several folks have noted dark-skinned Latinos who were also banned from baseball before the color line - see Chuck Harmon/Nino Escalera for instance. I tend to agree with the folks advocating for the inclusion of dark-skinned Latinos.

Adjusted OPS

We've had a long and back forth over whether "Adjusted OPS+" is redundant. Here is how Total Baseball defines "OPS+": "Production Plus, or Adjusted Production (On-Base Percentage plus Slugging Average, normalized to league average and adjusted for home-park factor). So OPS+ is the same as Adjusted OPS and Adjusted OPS+ is redundant. This is from pg. 555 from the the 7th edition of Total Baseball. - --Mischa 13:19, 12 April 2009 (EDT)

About Mike Palagyi, it was a long time ago when I did that, but here is a reference: I threw but 2 strikes out of 15 pitches -- a very short big league career, Palagyi told Richard Tellis, author of Once Around the Bases (Triumph Books, 1998), which chronicles the stories of 40 players who lasted a single game. - from a New York Times article. Glad to see you back and contributing interesting stuff. I would simply suggest that you avoid using the present too much in articles about current players, as this quickly makes the article appear out of date even if all of the contents are correct. Tom Stanton

There's a discussion going on on the SABR-L discussion group about Tom Stanton, as there are discrepancies between sources regarding this player, and the information now on his page contradicts that provided by SABR's biographical information committee back in 2011 (which is linked as a source). You made significant changes on this page in October 2020 without providing a source. I don't doubt that your information is correct, If you have a source, I could edit the article to reflect the evolution of knowledge about this player. Philippe (talk) 09:04, 1 January 2024 (UTC)

The changes I made are all sourced from BR. It shows that Tom was born and died in St. Louis, that Kling missed a week at catcher (he did pinch-hit once), that Tom played on April 19, and that Chance played one day.
