Major League Baseball Profiles: 1871-1900 is a two-volume set published in 2011. Edited and written in large part by prominent baseball historian and author David Nemec, it includes biographies of every significant player, owner, umpire and manager of 20th Century baseball. The book focuses largely on biographical, rather than statistical, details. In addition to Nemec, several other researchers contributed entries or parts of entries: David Ball, Jeffrey Kittel, Brian McKenna, Eric Miklich, Peter Morris, Lyle Spatz, John Thorn, Dick Thompson, Frank Vaccaro and Philip Von Borries.
