He made the TL All-Star team, joining Long, Schiraldi, Teddy Higuera and Pete Kutsukos as the hurlers. [1]

The Dodgers then promoted him to the AAA Albuquerque Dukes in 1985, and Meeks was 12-15 with a 3.93 ERA there. He tied Roger Mason and Dave Tobik for second in the 1985 PCL in wins, behind Bob Walk; he also tied Mark Grant for the most losses, tied for 6th in complete games (6), tied Grant for 4th in IP (183) and tied Mason for 10th in K (120). Among Dodgers minor leaguers, he was one win behind leader Greg Mayberry, led in losses (two ahead of Andres Mena), led in starts (29), tied for 6th in complete games, was second to Scott May in innings and was 5th in strikeouts (between Phil Torres and Larry White).

He slumped to 7-11 with a 5.28 ERA in 1986, and he split his time between Albuquerque and the Tacoma Tigers of the Oakland Athletics system in 1987, being traded on June 23 for Bill Krueger. He was 2-2 with a 6.14 ERA in 1988 for Tacoma, and he missed the 1989 season due to elbow problems. [2] Meeks mainly stayed with the AA Midland Angels of the California Angels, in 1990 and he was 7-4 with a 4.74 ERA. He also pitched 10 1/3 shutout innings for the class-A+ Palm Springs Angels, and he allowed 7 runs in 3 2/3 innings with the AAA Edmonton Trappers.
