The Lodi Dodgers had been known as the Lodi Orioles in 1974 and 1975 until an affilliation switch caused the team to be renamed. The Dodgers were Cal League Champions in 1977 and 1981, and Mike Marshall shared Cal League MVP honors in 1979. After the 1983 season, they became a Chicago Cubs farm team and changed their name to the Lodi Crushers.
