Biographical Information[edit]
Outfielder Jimmy Williams played in the Brooklyn and Los Angeles Dodgers farm system from 1947 to 1964. He led the 1949 Western League with 126 runs and 42 stolen bases. In 1955, he hit .329 with 13 homers for the Montreal Royals of the International League.
Williams was a player/coach in 1962 and a player/manager in 1963-1964. He was a Houston Astros coach in 1975 and later was a member of the Baltimore Orioles coaching staff for seven seasons (1981-1987), which included their 1983 World Series win.
He was inducted in the Canadian Baseball Hall of Fame in 1991.
