1987 Baltimore Orioles / Franchise: Baltimore Orioles / BR Team Page[edit]
Record: 67-95, Finished 6th in AL Eastern Division (1987 AL)
Managed by Cal Ripken Sr.
Coaches: Terry Crowley, Elrod Hendricks, Frank Robinson, Mark Wiley and Jimmy Williams
History, Comments, Contributions[edit]
In spite of a rather forgettable 67-95 record, the 1987 Baltimore Orioles set a record by hitting 58 homers during the month of May, the most by any major league team in any month. The record was tied by the 1999 Seattle Mariners (also in May) and only broken by the 2019 New York Yankees, in a year when a ton of home run records were shattered.
