Biographical Information[edit]

Andres Mena pitched in the Los Angeles Dodgers system from 1983 to 1987 and in the Mexican League in 1988. He didn't post a winning season until his final campaign, when he went 11-7 with a 4.54 ERA in 23 games (22 starts) for the Tuneros de San Luis. Otherwise, he went 1-1, 3-6, 10-13, 4-18 and 7-14 in his other seasons, respectively. Overall, Mena went 36-59 with a 4.49 ERA in 144 games (100 starts) over six seasons; while in the Dodgers system, he was 25-52 with a 4.48 mark. In 703 2/3 innings at all levels, he allowed 747 hits and 339 walks (1.543 WHIP), while striking out 442 batters.
