Biographical Information[edit]

Tijmen Takke has played in the Hoofdklasse.

Takke starred for the Netherlands when they won the 2016 U18 European Championship, hitting .500/.680/.750 with nine walks, eight runs, four doubles and nine RBI in six games. He tied Oliver van der Wijst for second in average (.026 behind Nikita Laykov), led in OBP (.071 ahead of Laykov), tied Marek Chlup for third in slugging, tied Jeffrey Arndt for 5th in runs, led in RBI, tied Chlup for the most doubles, tied Lucas Dunn and Anton Kuznetsov for 7th in total bases (12) and led in walks (one ahead of Aldrich De Jongh and Vojtěch Menšík. [1] In the 2016 Hoofdklasse, the rookie hit .213/.302/.213 for UVV. He competed in the International Power Showcase in Miami that winter. [2]

In the 2017 Hoofdklasse, he produced at a .279/.349/.349 clip. His four sac flies tied for second, one behind Jesse Aussems. He handled 55 chances error-free at first in the 2017 U-18 Baseball World Cup while batting .190/.346/.286 with five walks and six RBI in seven games. He led the Netherlands in RBI, one ahead of Jeandro Tromp. [3] Moving to Quick Amersfoort, he was one of the top batters in 2018 with a .381/.469/.495 batting clip and 24 RBI in 30 games. He was second to Dwayne Kemp in average (.026 behind), was 4th in slugging (between Kenny Berkenbosch and Shaldimar Daantji) and led in OBP (.015 ahead of Stijn van der Meer) for a fine performance by a teenager. [4] In the 2018 U-23 Baseball World Cup, he batted .321/.345/.429. [5]

Tijmen fell off slightly in 2019, to .304/.412/.418. Had he qualified, he would have been 8th in OBP, between Rodney Daal and Linoy Croes. [6] The next year, he slumped to .250/.363/.355 at an age when his stats should have been picking up. Coming to the US for college, he hit .281/.423/.400 in 2020-2021. [7] He does not appear to have played in 2022.
