Scott Samuels played in the minor leagues and CPBL.
Samuels was drafted by the Florida Marlins in the 9th round of the 1992 Amateur Draft, and he hit .297/.417/.461 with 6 homers in his first season for the High Desert Mavericks. He slumped to .231/.346/.303 with the Brevard County Manatees in 1994, then he hit .327/.435/.479 with 38 steals for the Daytona Cubs in 1995 after going to the Chicago Cubs system. Samuels also played 5 games for the AA Orlando Cubs, and he went 6-for-21. He then played 106 games in Orlando in 1996, and he recorded 21 steals with a .260/.373/.363 batting line there.
The Cleveland native moved to the Montreal Expos in the middle of the 1997 season after hitting .284/.377/.457 in Orlando, and he recorded a solid .296/.392/.457 batting line for the Harrisburg Senators. He reached AAA in that season, and his batting line was .346/.419/.455 in 20 games for the Ottawa Lynx. Samuels slumped to .234/.360/.383 with the Lynx in 1998, and he hit .276/.364/.535 in 20 games for the Senators. The Expos then released him, and he played 8 games with a .300/.462/.600 batting line for the Winnipeg Goldeyes. Samuels crushed 19 homers with a .393/.548/.857 batting line for the Rio Grande Valley WhiteWings in 1999. The Uni-President Lions of Taiwan signed him, and he hit .333/.439/.577 with 6 dingers in 1999 CPBL. He blasted 5 homers with a .545/.615/1.909 batting line in the 1999 CPBL Playoff Series, but the Wei Chuan Dragons still beat the Lions in 3 games.
Samuels ruled the Northern League East in 2000, hitting .352/.465/.628 with 16 homers and 24 steals for the Allentown Ambassadors. He won the MVP of the NLE. The Boston Red Sox then signed him, and he crushed 14 homers with a .256/.331/.440 batting line for the Pawtucket Red Sox in 2001. He hit .267/.411/.483 for the Ambassadors in '01 after leaving Boston, and he also played 20 games with a .210/.289/.272 batting line for the Sultanes de Monterrey of Mexico. Samuels struggled again in Monterrey as he only hit .200/.245/.300 in 2002, and he recorded a .269/.392/.315 batting line for the Rojos del Aguila de Veracruz in 2003. He then returned to the US, and he crushed 9 homers with a .422/.493/.547 batting line for the New Jersey Jackals. Samuels played 58 games with a .265/.353/.405 batting line for the St. Paul Saints in 2004, and his batting line was .299/.396/.455 for the Gary SouthShore RailCats. He hit .254/.327/.439 with 7 homers in Gary in 2005, then his professional career ended.
