He had a 4.74 ERA in 63 games, and he ranked 3rd in games pitched (tied with Hyun-wook Kim).

The Goheung native had his career year in 2001, and he collected 9 holds and 10 saves with a 3.57 ERA in 69 games. He reached the qualified innings despite being a reliever, and he was 5th in ERA (between Yong-deok Han and Hei-chun Lee). Oh also ranked 3rd in appearances (between Yoon-ho Shin and Woong-cheon Cho) and 4th in holds (tied with Deuk-yeom Ka and Cho). He then represented South Korea in the 2001 Baseball World Cup. While usually a reliever, his only appearance was as a starter, allowing one run in five (on a Jean-Baptiste Meunier homer) in a 5-1 win over France's Patrick Carlson. Oh was then traded with Tilson Brito and 1.1 billion won to the Samsung Lions for Gi-tae Kim, Dong-soo Kim, Kyoung-bae Chung, Sang-jin Kim, Yong-hoon Lee and Tae-han Kim.

Oh struggled in his first season with Samsung as his ERA was 5.48 in 54 games, then he improved to a 4.79 ERA in 47 games with 9 holds in 2003. He extended his solid pitching in 2004, and he recorded a 2.32 ERA in 34 games in 2004. He had a 1.23 ERA in 12 relief outings in 2007, but he missed most of the season due to a elbow injury. The Lions released him after that season.

The LG Twins picked him up, and Oh had a 2.74 ERA in 38 games in 2008. He was still a solid reliever in 2009 as his ERA was 3.00 in 63 games with 6 holds, and he ranked 6th in appearances (tied with Young-min Son and Hyuk Kwon). Oh then collected 15 holds with a 4.40 ERA in 65 relief outings in 2010, ranking 9th in games (tied with Seung-ho Lee and Shin-young Song) and 6th in holds (tied with Dong-hyon Lee).
