John Patrick Carlson

Patrick Carlson has played for the French national team and also currently (2009) pitches for the Saarlouis Hornets of the German Bundesliga. He is also capable of playing first base and the outfield

He has played with the Paris Université Club from 2000-2008, with a brief stint in Spain playing for FC Barcelona in 2005 (going 0 for 5 at the plate and not pitching in Spain). During the 2001 Baseball World Cup, the 17-year-old allowed 12 hits and 11 runs in 5 1/3 innings, going 0-1 for France. He allowed one run in 3 1/3 innings in the 2001 European Championship. He was 0-1 with a 6.23 ERA in the 2002 World University Championship. In the 2007 Division Elite season, Carlson hit .315/.363/.411 in 21 games for Paris and went 0-9 with 2 saves and a 8.41 ERA on a 2-21 team; he allowed 73 hits and 36 walks in 48 innings.

In the 2007 European Championship, he allowed 2 hits and a run in 2/3 of an inning, pitching only against the Dutch national team.

In 2008, Carlson was 0-2 with 3 saves and a 5.93 ERA for the Saarlouis Hornets. He hit .213/.368/.293 in 75 AB.
