Northwoods League
Founded in 1994, and comprised of the some of the top college players from across the country, the Northwoods League is one of the nation's premier Summer Collegiate Baseball leagues. Sanctioned by the Summer Collegiate Baseball Association, all players are NCAA eligible and are unpaid in order to maintain their eligibility.
Each team is operated in a similar manner to a professional minor league team, providing players an opportunity to play under the same conditions using wooden bats, minor league specification baseballs, experiencing overnight road trips and playing nightly before fans in a stadium.
Several Northwoods League teams play in ballparks formerly occupied by professional clubs from the Midwest League and the Northern League. The Northwoods League allows communities throughout the U.S. and Canada deemed too small for pro ball to continue to enjoy high-quality, competitive baseball during the summer months.
