Biographical Information[edit]
Musharaf Khan debuted for the Pakistani national team in the 2023 Asian Championship. The 18-year-old giant started against Japan in the opener. He retired Yukiya Yano, Motoki Mukoyama and Masashi Maruyama in order in the first, Maruyama by strikeout. He allowed a second-inning run on a Ryosuke Aizawa single, Seifu Suzuki walk, a balk and a Jin Nakamura RBI grounder. After the first three batters reached in the third, Muhammad Amjad Aslam relieved but let two inherited runners in, giving him 3 runs in 2 innings and the loss to Mizuki Kato. His next game came against Thailand and he went the distance with a four-hitter, allowing one run and one walk while striking out six to beat Suppakorn Lin. He finished the event 1-1 with a 3.86 ERA in three games. Entering medal play (Pakistan did not qualify for the finals), he was tied for 4th with Vladimir Eguia and Jo-Hsi Hsu with 10 K in the event. His 14 IP led, one ahead of Steven Mufareh. [1]
